Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has assembled a battery of lawyers top appeal yesterday’s decision of jailing the Kenya Medical Practitioners Union (KMPDU) top officials by the industrial court.
Speaking to the members of the press after the burial of Kwale Senator Boy Juma Boy at Vanga, Kwale County, Raila expressed his revolt over the court’s decision to jail the country’s top brains, terming it shameful.
Raila accused the Jubilee administration of humiliating the people who are fighting for their constitutional rights.
He blamed the Jubilee administration for mixing doctors with hardcore criminals.
“It is absolutely shameful for Uhuru Kenyatta to purport to jail doctors because they are demanding what is rightfully theirs. Why is he sending doctors to jail to mix with hardcore criminals? I want to register my ultimate dissatisfaction and promise Kenyans that CORD will assemble a battery of top lawyers to appeal the regrettable decision. I have instructed senior counsels George Oraro and James Orengo to assemble 15 of the best legal razor-blade minded barristers around so that they appeal the doctor’s fraudulent jailing and rescue them from the shackles of Jubilee’s kakistocratic system. I promise you our doctors must be free by tomorrow afternoon” He said.
