NO RIFT IN THE VALLEY:
Bomet Gorvenor Isaac Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi Today said they supported Deputy President William Ruto.
The two and Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony said they respected the position the Deputy President held and they were not undermining him.
Mr Moi said no one was interested in the Deputy President’s position in Government.
The Bomet Governor said he joined Parliament with the Deputy President and there was no bad blood between them.
“We were in Parliament at the same time and we worked together so there is no problem between us…I request you Deputy President to take sometime to meet us,” he said adding that there was no cause for alarm over his criticism of Government.
The governor said his criticism of Government did not mean he was undermining it.
They said leaders from Rift Valley should work together to serve the people.
Mr Chepkwony said he had no differences with the Deputy President and vowed to support him.
Deputy President, Governors Chepkwony (Kericho), Ruto (Bomet), National Assembly Majority Leader Adan Duale, senators Charles Keter, Moi and Kipchumba Murkomen attended the ceremony. Also present was Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso.
Mr Moi asked leaders from region to work together. However, he told some politicians in the region to stop castigating others for no reason.
“The seat of the Deputy President and Senator of Baringo is not vacant. I have never wanted the Deputy President’s seat. This is his seat and I have mine,” Mr Moi said.
