Dear Team “Baba pod pek” loudmouths, to criticize Raila is not disrespect.
The current debate in the party should not be converted into a tussle between those who speak their mind freely and some political pigmies who donated their robotic heads to the wind long ago. For those who are schooled properly, criticism should be countered decently and intellectually by thoroughly auditing facts or lies therein then offering counter-analysis to prove a point or defeat a lie.
Therefore, I find the narrative being groomed by the power thirsty proponents of this nefarious crowd calling itself Team “Baba pod pek” alleging that Raila should not be criticized as, backward, stone-age, archaic, dictatorial, silly, uncivilized, duplicitous and defeats every single shred of gains in democracy that ODM champions and Raila has fought for all is life.
To claim that simply because we are young, we shouldn’t criticize or advise Raila is to sound foolish if not being embarrassingly unreasonable for lack of a decent term. To tell us that as young people, our work should be to clog public rallies and sing dirges to the political class without airing our thoughts freely is to be crazy in reasoning and buffoonish in judgement.
We can’t stop you from singing your lazy lungs out retorting “Baba pod pek” every time you are boxed with facts. The same way, don’t victimize folks whose intention is to contribute their little intellectual know-how that can help Raila improve his performance, win 2017, go to statehouse then afterwards, you can loudly sing “Baba pod pek” with courage on the lawns of statehouse just like that Kanu remnant called Ruto did with his “Kanu yajenga nchi” nonsense of a song.
We love Raila and as the caliph of Luo politics and a Kenyan political enigma, our aim is to offer positive criticism so that we don’t suffer another stroke in 2017. Raila has only one realistic chance in 2017, call it one bullet, if we mess it up, then his legacy is forever doomed and your silly songs and political backbiting will disappear indefinitely till Jesus’ second coming.
If being open minded and candid will be viewed as opposing Jakom, then get it from me, I have no apologies. A very young, sharp team delivered Uhuruto to statehouse at a time you underrated them, Obama was taken to statehouse by not young singers but young intellectuals, the current Greece PM equally had a young vibrant campaign team. If we don’t talk now, a time comes when we will blame our silence.
