I saw some of my friends on this other side of the political divide like my good friend Dikembe Disembe urge us to “give dialogue a chance” since what Baba can see while lying prone on the floor of Indian Ocean,no one can see from the apex of Mt.Everest.
While hurriedly announcing the cowardly decision to suspend the weekly anti-IEBC demos that were just about to yield the fruits,my Senator James Orengo was categorical that they can only dialogue from “the highest levels possible”-in other words, with Uhuru Kenyatta. Now Uhuru has told them off;that he has no capacity to dialogue with the Opposition on matters touching on IEBC;that CORD should face the Jubilee tyranny in parliament and dialogue with thugs like Moses Kuria,Aden Duale etc……
In a nutshell, the IEBC debate is now firmly on the laps of the Jubilee mandarins. They can now dictate the script and manipulate the debate to their advantage. That was exactly my projection from the outset, hence my earlier opposition to the street protests and later(after a deep reflection), a preference for the street dialogue which would have yielded better political returns even well beyond mere electoral reforms/IEBC disbandment…..
Emboldened by the latest display of sheer cowardice from their aggressors the Opposition, the IEBC commissioners have now vowed to stay put,and have told off the religious fraudsters who’ve been shuttling from one office to the next allegedly to bring the feuding groups together, that they’ll stay in office until their term expires!
Defeated, the religious conmen are now urging the Opposition to just end their agitation for electoral reforms for the sake of peace and harmony in the country……….
And the circular foolishness continues……
But these are beside the point. My point is;Who among those of us on the left will grab the mantle and lead the battle? These old men have clearly been defeated!
