By launching some Paybill during the Uhuru Park rally what Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka did was to invite Kenyans to do a Harrambee so that teachers can get their 50-60% salary raise. A fundraiser towards the salaries of hundreds of thousands of degree and diploma holders. In essence CORD has reduced teachers to beggars.
Now, assume Kenyans were very philanthropic and actually sent billions of shillings to CORD through the Paybill number, what would follow would be a queue of teachers in CORD branches nationwide for handouts. Graduate teachers getting handouts from politicians. Isorait.
Kenyans, I know Uhuru Kenyatta has failed you. And I know you are acutely desperate for a good leader. But I don’t think you are so frustrated to the extent that you’ve been forced to recall some retired and tired brains from retirement to come and entertain you with troops at Uhuru park.
I think you deserve better. Whether by design or default you actually sent Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to retirement in 2013. What they have failed to do is to collect their pensions which the government has been too willing to give them.
Kenyans ,there is a clique of people who are using the political clout of these old generals to prop themselves in power. They include some governors, senators ,MPs, MCAs, Youth and Women leaders and aspirants who cannot make it in their respective constituencies without these two senior political retirees. These and other young Kenyans who continuously flock Uhuru park and other venues for political entertainment are the betrayers of the third liberation. And we need to start waging an ideological war against them.
Uhuru Kenyatta with his failures will complete his terms of office. And as people with a bigger vision he should not be our point of focus ,or fear. Because he is a passing cloud. He will go. What our concern must then be is how do we start a post Uhuru dispensation that will be devoid of hipocrisy, double speak , economic and social disempowerment , circus and comedy that is now evident in CORD.
Kenyans , do you want to tell me that with our levels of education and civic awareness we cannot from among ourselves generate a national leadership that we deserve and deserves us. Are we such cowards who cannot determine their own destiny. Were we liberated from white man’s rule so that we can be emasculated by our own fathers or brothers?
I think not. Time has come that we must drop off all our insecurities and look ahead to a future that we must ourselves shape.
We must start working towards the Kenyan Dream
