The rate at which we Luhyias are getting divided is inexcusably spiraling and something needs to be done with utmost emergency. When will the Luhyia community realize the importance of political solidarity that is needed for the sake of development? Luhyias must wake up to the fact that there is no tree that grows money, but the oneness that gives you a political bargaining power and.
I countenance the ideology that the recent State House trip by Luhyia leaders mustn’t be politicized. I equally discountenance the same as a fallacy because even before they were given the Ksh 1b boost to resuscitate Mumias Sugar, the president knew that they needed the money.
My point is this, had the president known that there is unity among the Luhyia community, he couldn’t have summoned the leaders to State House to pick the money. Instead, he could have just jumpstarted the company without anyone having to coax him. I know our President; he is a very intelligent man and he could have done just that for the sake of his future political security in Western Province.
A community that is united does not beg for development. Instead, the unity in it speaks for itself. The community that is divided is easy to manipulate and control. Unity is the key because it is essential to get everyone on a team moving in the right direction. Unity is paramount. I know it is rare, though, because bringing people together is difficult due to personal agendas, egos, politics, power struggles and negativity. Nonetheless, others have come together, we can also do it.
Let us avoid begging for that we have the power to earn.. Let us stop being pessimists who see difficulties in every opportunity; let us be optimists that see opportunities in every difficulty. Luhyias must know that the price of greatness is responsibility. They must be reminded that success is the child of audacity.
My Luhyia leaders, I am not a politician and I know I cannot teach you anything in development but, I am certain I can help you discover the ability within yourselves. Let us eschew the political mendicancy and do things with one voice and strength.
