President Kenyatta today landed in Kisumu like a tsunami. Residents could not hide their love for their President as they cheered him all the way, ignoring their demigod Raila Odinga completely.
The President tours Kisumu a just two days after he signed a trade pact between Kenya and Uganda that caused mixed reactions.
It was expected that the President could be booed by Kisumu residents but the tour turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Opposition leader Raila Odinga expected his fans to cause chaos and chase the President away from Kisumu but was shocked to see people cheer him like football players cheering their beloved Arsenal.
In his speech, the President told the people of Kisumu to work together with the government because the all belong to one mother and father called Kenya. The sugar snafu was rendered irrelevant and no one was interested to hear it.
Raila tried bringing it up but people didn’t want to listen.
