Defiant political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi who recently offered an apology to members of the Luo community over controversial posts on his Twitter account is a Luo half-caste.
Ngunyi who posted the apology on the same social media platform on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 saying that his previous comments were never intended to cause any harm to Luos, is suspected to have learnt about his Luo roots the previous day.
POLITICA sunk deep into Ngunyi’s controversial kinship and discovered that his biological father was Siaya County. One of the octogenarians Mr. Zakayo Odongo a herbalist who happened to know Ngunyi’s father said that Ngunyi’s father was called Mr. Zephaniah Odwido from Uranga division, Siaya County.
A wise man once said that behind every fortune, is a crime and according to Mzee Odongo, Ngunyi’s father was a wealthy man although he acquired his wealth by conning his fellow villagers.
Since he was a man of means, his wealth attracted a lot of girls from every nook and cranny of the country including Ngunyi’s mother who hoodwinked him into having a relationship with her.
When Ngunyi’s mother conceived, and birthed the man that is giving his native community sleepless nights. When Ngunyi was 3 years old, his mother conned his father Ksh15000, equivalent to the current Ksh180000 and ran away to her Father’s home in Nyeri.
Efforts by the police to search for her bore no fruit and since then, no one ever heard from her until recently when Mzee Odongo recognized him through his facial structure and some unique birthmarks.
After realizing the truth, Mutahi Ngunyi took it to twitter and tendered an apology. This is what he had to say:
“I apologize to the LUO NATION unreservedly. No harm INTENDED. I am a product of Luo SCHOLARS whom I RESPECT immensely. I eat the HUMBLE PIE (sic),” reads the Tweet.
