Tension was high in Nakuru an MP and three Members of County Assembly reportedly led a group of youth to disrupt a meeting by CORD leader Raila Odinga at Donnies Hotel.
According to reports, police officers fired gunshots to ward-off the rowdy crowd threatening to cause chaos.
It is said that the demonstrators were chanting anti-Odinga slogans demanding him to leave the County. The charged protesters blocked Mr Odinga from leaving the hotel by hurling stones at the guest house.
The Opposition leader had visited the County on Saturday and was holding talks with Orange Democratic Movement leaders when the incident happened.
