Cord hopes to impeach President Uhuru Kenyatta for “breaching the constitution by disobeying a court order on the teachers pay issue”. You people did not tell me that Uhuru the President was a party in that case. All I know is that the case was filed by TSC and the only other four parties (Respondents) were KNUT, KUPPET, the AG and SRC.
I’m also not aware that one can disobey an order issued in a case where he/she was not a party and was not served with the order or given a chance to respond. If we were to impeach Uhuru for every order disobeyed by State institutions or public officers, we would impeach him every week.
But of course when politics interferes with a legal mind, the mind gets rotten no matter how brilliant that mind may be.
If I was to advise Knut and Kuppet, I would tell them to keep Cord out of this dispute or else that will be the beginning of their failure. But if Cord wishes to support the teachers, they should not join them in a one-day demonstration. They should do what I proposed weeks ago, down their tools (if they have any) and stay home in solidarity.
