ODM chairman John Mbandi has teamed up with his fellow Luo MPs to deflate Ababu Namwamba’s ego via a another voter registration initiative to be known as #jitambulishenaID, the iniative has made Ababu’s Namwamba’s #TOKELEZEANAID being left high and dry after a few recruitment drive in Western and Nyanza.
Ababu and Mbandi dont see eye to eye, the two given an opprtunity can fight till there all is emptied into a sewarage
Here is an angry post by Hon Jim Bonnie who is allied to Ababu Namwamba’s tokelezeaID.
With this fights, Jubilee should relax and wait for a walk-over in 2017/18 general elections.
DUPLICITY SURROUNDING JITAMBULISHE AND THE MALICIOUS INTENT TO ILEGITIMISE TOKELEZEAID
I will go directly to the point and ask you the most important questions. But before I do that, let me clarify that am not against any effort to give our people IDs. Our people here mean, ODM followers, not our repugnant opponents who deem in the power of pilfering elections like political idiots. Don’t get me wrong though.
Jitambulishe has been launched today – this is good. I also gather that they “intend” to roam around the country to mobilize for ID registration. This is also ok. However, there is a slogan crafted by the proponents of this “venture” which maliciously suggest that Jitambulishe is an ODM initiative.
The intended and derived meaning of this is that any other initiative is illicit and irrelevant. Common sense tells me that they target to dismantle #TokelezeaID. Of course TokelezeaID came first commandeered by the judicious General Ababu Namwamba.
It is also as clear as crystal that those who have launched Jitambulishe are the perennial opponents of Ababu. This is a fact. I don’t have to ask you to take this to the bank.
Now – some questions might help us understand whether Jitambulishe is the official ODM initiative or this is another flock of peeved busybodies waging recognition and superiority contest at the expense of Raila presidency.
First, if Jitambulishe is an ODM initiative, was it sanctioned by the NEC? Where are the minutes? Secondly, why weren’t all ODM members and officials invited? If in case they were invited but they failed to attend, can we be shown their invitation letters? And thirdly, we all know that the Secretary General is the official party spokesperson, was he involved at any stage if indeed this was an ODM initiative? And lastly, is someone taking us for fools here?
I can’t comprehend why the advocates of Jitambulishe must force it down our throats that it is an official ODM initiative. The truth is, Jitambulishe is a private initiative of ODM chairman and his associates formed to rival TokelezeaID.
I repeat for clarity – I am not against any initiative to give our people IDs. My concern however is, why the political fraudulence and gymnastics displayed by Jitambulishe folks?
Why is Jitambulishe struggling for legitimacy and recognition through the backdoor? What is important? Is it registering as many people as possible as TokelezeaID has done so far and endeavor to do or being popular as the “one day old” Jitambulishe are doing and might continue to do? I can’t get drunk in my own party, so I leave it to ODMers be the judges.
Before I pen the last word, I am reminded of Calvin Coolidge in “Have Faith in Massachusetts” who said, “Politics is not an end but a means. It is not a product but a process. It is the art of government. Like other values, it has its counterfeits”.
Let me hope we are not creating counterfeits of TokelezeaID. The challenge we have faced in the party is that whenever any good initiative comes up, the following day, you see mushrooming of phony initiatives because people think there is money to be looted. If that is the case, you’re in for a serious disappointment.
We have no beef. The competition should be on the number of people we register for IDs. However, if it will turn to pettiness, then roll up your sleeves.
