One of ODM Party’s strongest pillars was so charmed by President Uhuru’s rescue of Mumias Sugar that he asked residents whether to quit ODM or not – to which residents responded in the ‘aye’.
Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, also the ODM Secretary General, is a man on his way out to join Jubilee. Sources close to the MP has indicated he does not want to leave early, as Raila may destroy him, but will leave at an opportune time.
Speaking during a morning television breakfast show on Citizen TV, Mr Namwamba said the meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto was to find a way of uplifting economic status of Western Kenya and held revive struggling Mumias Sugar Company.
“The meeting was absolutely not about politics. The agenda was very clear, to find an economic renaissance of Western Kenya. The meeting was not about Cord or Jubilee but about the economic wellbeing of the people,” said Mr Namwamba.
