ODM disciprinary committee has recommended Migori governor Okoth Obado and Senator Elizabeth Ongoro be DISQUALIFIED from contesting the August polls on the party’s ticket. Basically they have been kicked out of the party.
Governor Obado who is an ally of DP Ruto stormed and disrupted a rally convened by Suna East MP Hon Junet Mohammed and attended by deputy party leaders Governor Joho, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Kisumu senator Prof Peter Nyong’o among other top party officials.
The chaos in Migori left many injured with two sustaining bullet wounds, one of Governor Joho’s personal security personnel was shot and is still admitted in hospital. It was alleged that Obado stormed the rally with hired goons and anti riot police.
Those disqualified have an option of appealing decision at high court although due to limited time the best option is for them to run on other parties.
