Washington DC, United States. US President Donald Trump has invited Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho to the White House on Tuesday. Speaking a while ago during a press conference, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the President wants to maintain the positive diplomatic ties with the Government of Kenya for the smooth cooperation.
According to Spicer, the United States recognizes the importance of Kenya especially Mombasa given that it is the gateway to the larger East Africa.
“The United States of America recognizes the significance of Kenya and Mombasa in particular because it is the most strategic gateway to East Africa. As a result, the United States acknowledges the paramount role Mombasa has in its endeavors and that is why out ties with Kenya must be improved. As a result, the President will on Tuesday meet the Mombasa Governor who is already here in the United States to discuss the issues and challenges facing the County of Mombasa” Said Spicer.
It was previously rumoured by the Kenyan government that the Mombasa Governor aka governor 001 is banned from stepping in the United States but everything has been cleared now. It is now evident that he is going to be the first Kenyan leader to meet President Trump.
