– Police in Mombasa County have barred Joho from attending a presidential function at Mtongwe Ferry

Chaos has erupted in Mombasa after police blocked Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho from attending an event being presided by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Joho was barred from entering Mombasa City at the Nyali bridge as police attempted to stop him from attending the relaunch of the Mtongwe Ferry services on Monday, March 13, his spokesman Richard Chacha says. No reasons was given for the barricade.
Joho had on Sunday, March 12 through his political advisor Idris Abdiraham said he would attend the event so as to defend his development record in Mombasa county.
This, he said was to put the record straight after he was attacked by the Jubilee team on Sunday in a political rally at Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa.
Police also rejected his application to hold a political rally on Sunday, March 12, at Mvita Grounds in Mombasa to rival that of Uhuru.
Heavily armed GSU and Flying Squad officers barricade Joho’s Nyali home on Monday but he outfoxed them and sneaked using an unofficial vehicle.
